OUR GREEN ENERGY PROJECTS

Building a global green portfolio

We're building a large global portfolio of green projects which show significant potential for decarbonisation and economic growth.

By building a portfolio that covers the whole green energy value chain – from green electrons to green molecule production - we're maximising efficiencies, innovation, and creating a real competitive leg-up on the competition.

We’re investing in green electricity to directly support the green hydrogen supply chain, setting us up for our role as a world supplier of harmless, environmentally friendly energy alternatives.

  • Arizona Hydrogen, USA

We're kickstarting a green hydrogen project in Buckeye, Arizona, set to produce liquid green hydrogen by 2026, creating thousands of jobs and paving the way for a cleaner energy future.

  • Gladstone PEM50, Australia

Our Gladstone project in Queensland is all set to start producing green hydrogen in 2025 using cutting-edge PEM technology, with construction kicking off next year.

  • Holmaneset, Norway

This ambitious 300MW project in Norway is moving swiftly towards becoming a key player in green hydrogen and ammonia production, with local support and substantial EU funding.

  • Pecem, Brazil

At Pecem in Brazil, we're advancing plans for a massive green hydrogen and ammonia facility, with environmental approvals underway and the potential to create thousands of jobs.

  • Hemnes, Norway

In Hemnes, Norway, we're assessing the potential for an integrated green hydrogen and ammonia facility, backed by a long-term power agreement.

  • Actis Joint Venture, Oman

In Oman, we're developing a massive green hydrogen and ammonia project, set to produce 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually using solar and wind energy.

  • OCP Joint Venture, Morocco

In Morocco, we're teaming up with OCP to build a large-scale green hydrogen, ammonia, and fertilizer production hub, aiming to serve global markets with sustainable energy solutions.

  • Iris, Jordan

We're partnering with Jordan's government to explore large-scale green ammonia production, aiming to unlock the country's renewable energy potential and create a sustainable future.

  • West Nile and West Aswan, Egypt

Collaborating with Egypt, we're studying renewable energy potential to kickstart green hydrogen projects in the West Nile and West Aswan regions, with significant capacity planned.

  • Gibson Island, Australia

Fortescue and Incitec Pivot are collaborating to develop a green hydrogen and ammonia facility on Gibson Island in Brisbane.

  • Pampas, Argentina

Fortescue's Pampas Project in Patagonia, Argentina, is focused on generating green hydrogen and other green products by integrating wind farms, electricity transmission, and port infrastructure. The project is currently in the Environmental and Social Impact Studies phase, aiming to responsibly develop the region's renewable energy potential.

  • Michigan Advanced Manufacturing Centre, USA

Fortescue's new facility in Detroit will focus on producing green technology like batteries and electrolyzers. With a $35 million investment, this center aims to create up to 600 jobs by 2030, revitalizing a historic manufacturing site.

  • Colorado Innovation Centre, USA

Fortescue's Colorado Innovation Center in Golden, CO, is advancing green hydrogen and energy innovations, focusing on decarbonizing tough industries. This facility collaborates with top institutions like NREL and will create up to 350 jobs, with an $80 million investment over ten years.

Forged for tomorrow.
