Our new Advanced Manufacturing Center in Detroit, the former heart of the American car industry, will become a major hub for our production of the next generation of automotive and heavy industry batteries, fast chargers, and electrolyzers.
After securing funding at the start of 2024, we will rehabilitate the facility, set in the historic industrial district of Piquette Avenue in Michigan’s largest city, and convert it into a workspace fit for the manufacturing and engineering demands of the future.
Production is expected to start in 2025 with the center having the potential to create up to 600 jobs as product lines ramp up over the following five years.
The new site was originally constructed in 1920 as Fisher Body 23 and has 410,000 square feet of space, over six floors on 14 acres.
